Exploring the Rich Cultural and Design Entrepreneurial
Heritage of the unique Breton region of France, 2024
About the Program
The following is how the program was announced: This program includes an academic course in fall 2024 followed by travel to France from December 5-19, 2024.
It will give students the opportunity to be immersed in French culture yet experience it from two perspectives, from a cultural point of view and a business point of view. We will discover a people whose language, exceptional folklore, rich customs, music, and dress remain a vivid homage to their past, yet securely anchored in the present. Sustaining this regional pride is the remarkable economic transformation that has taken place in Brittany and its diversity. We will discover a region focusing on innovation, supporting entrepreneurship and alternatives to traditional business, where the dynamism of craftsmanship is driven by micro enterprises.
To emphasize the dynamic of entrepreneurship in the region, the importance of tradition combined with modernity, students will be invited to participating to a creative project with the Cadiou Industry in Locronan, a company using design to the service of the market in unique ways.
